Australian Unity has announced the creation of a new retail platform that will encompass private health insurance, banking and general insurance, and broking. The platform will be headed by general manager – life and super Matt Walsh, a spokesperson for the company said.
The heads of the other two divisions — wealth and capital markets, and independent and assisted living — will not change, with David Bryant and Kevin McCoy, respectively, remaining as heads.
However, former chief executive of Australian Unity Healthcare Amanda Hagan will step into the role of chief customer officer and group executive – digital.
Commenting on the organisational changes, which will be implemented beginning 1 January 2018, group managing director Rohan Mead said: “Together with important organic organisational developments, these three initiatives have extended our service and geographic footing further than ever before and we are now setting up for future growth opportunities.
“To capitalise on these opportunities, we need to invest more into areas such as customer experience and our digital capabilities, as well as improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.”
