Ann Sherry, current executive chairman of Carnival Australia, a cruise ship operator in Australasia, been appointed to NAB's board of directors.
She has previously held executive roles at Westpac New Zealand, Bank of Melbourne and People & Performance.
NAB chairman Ken Henry said he was delighted that Ms Sherry had accepted the invitation to join the board.
“She brings extensive banking and business skills together with a deep understanding of how to drive the right culture, community engagement and customer focus,” he said.
Commenting on her own appointment, Ms Sherry said she was “honoured”.
“The bank plays an important role in the Australian economy and broader community, and I look forward to working with my fellow directors on the many opportunities and challenges ahead,” she said.
Ms Sherry currently holds non-executive director positions for Sydney Airport, Palladium Group, Infrastructure Victoria, Australian Rugby Union, Tourism & Transport Forum, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Cape York Partnerships.
