Robert Priestley has been appointed to the fund’s ‘board of guardians’ for a five-year term beginning 7 November, according to a statement by Treasury.
Mr Priestley has had three decades’ worth of experience in the financial services industry across areas of investment banking, financial markets, commercial banking, investor services, treasury services and asset management.
Currently chairman of JP Morgan Australia and New Zealand, he had previously served as chief executive of the firm for 15 years.
He is also a non-executive director at ASX Limited.
“Mr Priestley brings considerable financial acumen and business expertise to complement the board's existing skills,” the statement said.
