RBC appoints managing director

London-based asset service provider RBC Investor & Treasury Services has appointed a former JPMorgan Chase executive to the role of managing director.

Marian Azer, who has over 20 years’ experience, joins RBC Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS) and will take up the role of managing director as well as head of product management – Asia-Pacific and chief operating officer – global client coverage.

Prior to the appointment, Ms Azer spent a combined five years at JPMorgan Chase as its head of product – investor services and head of global fund services – product, and before that she was principal at Mercer Investment Consulting between 2006 and 2012 and was a client services manager at BNP Paribas.

In the new position, Ms Azer will oversee the design and implementation of RBC I&TS’ product strategy in the Asia-Pacific region as well as the governance of Australian client coverage activities.

Ms Azer will report to global head of product management Paul Stillabower and head of I&TS Australia David Travers, who said that she had joined the firm at a time when it was investing in new technology and talent.

“Globally, we are focused on being a specialist provider, delivering market-leading products and technology that evolve with our clients’ needs,” Mr Travers said.

Mr Stillabower added, “With Marian’s background and strong expertise, we are well placed to bolster our product offering in Australia and Asia.”
