Fund manager Pengana Capital has appointed two new members to its distribution team.

According to a statement by Pengana, Broc McCauley and Dan McAleer will step into their new Melbourne-based roles of business development manager and regional business development manager, respectively.

Mr McCauley and Mr McAleer will “service and support dealer groups, researchers, platforms and advisers in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania,” the statement said.

Mr McCauley was most recently an investment adviser with responsibility for high-net worth client and key dealer group relationships at asset manager Equity&Super.

Prior to that, he was an associate adviser at investment advisory Pitcher Partners.

Mr McCauley also had a stint as a professional AFL player at hawthorn Football Club and Brisbane Lions between 2009 and 2012.

Mr McAleer makes the move from Lonsec Research, where he managed client relationships and had distribution, development and marketing responsibilities in his role of strategic relationship manager.

Before assuming that role, he was business development manager at the research house.

Between 2013 and 2015, Mr McAleer was relationship manager of superannuation and then product manager of savings and retirement at IRESS.

He was an account manager at Mercer Investments for five years prior to that.

Commenting on the appointments, Pengana director of distribution Damian Crowley said the fund manager was “very pleased to welcome such experienced relationship managers” to the distribution team.

“With 50 per cent of the investment market across Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania, our new team members will play a significant role in managing these relationships,” Mr Crowley said.
