The founding partner and chief executive of boutique Australian equity fund manager Concise Asset Management has joined the research house as a national sales manager.

In a statement, Zenith Investment partners announced David Parr would join the sales team, “focusing on building Zenith’s managed account and investment research business to financial advice practices nationally”.

Mr Parr makes the move after more than 10 years leading Concise Asset Management, where he oversaw the business’ operations, spanning compliance, legal, IT, HR, accounting as well as relationships with third-party providers.

One of his main responsibilities as chief executive was managing institutional and retail client relationships with dealer groups, family offices, researchers and platforms, according the statement.

Prior to his time at Concise Asset Management, he had been a director of business development at UBS Global Asset Management from 2002 to 2007, where he was an account manager responsible for investment sales across a number of Australian states.

Mr Parr will report to managing partner David Smyth, who said: “We are delighted to have David join Zenith at a time of significant growth and opportunity for the business, particularly in the managed accounts space.

“David brings a unique skill set to our sales team on top of his relationship experience, that includes a successful track record running a fund manager and first-hand understanding of the research landscape.

“David will add significant firepower to our advice-based relationship approach with dealer groups,” Mr Smyth concluded.
