Local Government Super appoints director - 2018

Government industry fund Local Government Super has appointed Penrith City Council councillor Karen McKeown to its board.

The industry fund has announced that Ms McKeown will replace Lindsay Brown on its board.

Ms McKeown has been a councillor at Penrith City Council since 2004 and was elected mayor from 2015 to 2016.

As well as serving as a director for Local Government NSW and Penrith Performing and Visual Arts, she also has more than two decades’ experience in the finance industry, according to the statement.

At Local Government Super, Ms McKeown will sit on a number of committees, including the Audit and Compliance Committee, the Member Services Committee and the Risk Committee.

Local Government Super chair Bruce Miller welcomed Ms McKeown to the board.

“She brings extensive leadership and organisational experience to the Board, and a real passion for helping women boost their super and improve their lives in retirement,” he said.
