Research house Zenith Investment Partners has promoted two internal candidates to the roles of general manager and investments consultant.

In a statement, Zenith announced it had promoted head of research Bronwen Moncrieff to the position of general manager and promoted investment analyst Matthew Cho to investment consultant.

Stepping into the general manager role after six years as head of research, Ms Moncrieff will retain duties from her former role but delegate some research responsibilities to research heads of various asset classes.

Ms Montcrieff joined Zenith as a senior investment analyst in mid-2011 before taking up the head of research role at the end of 2012.

Before her time at Zenith, she was a senior equities analyst at Australian sovereign wealth fund Future Fund and also spent nine years as a senior research analyst at Russell Investments and then Lonsec across 1992 to 2010.

Investment analyst Matthew Cho has been promoted to investment consultant and will join the consulting team on 1 July, maintain a close relationship with the research team in servicing clients.

Prior to joining Zenith in 2015, where he began as an associate investment analyst, Mr Cho held portfolio administration manager and then research analyst roles at Garnaut Private Wealth.

The two appointments were a “direct result” of greater interest in Zenith’s managed account and investment consulting services, according to the statement.

Zenith managing partner David Wright commented: “We believe Zenith’s competitive advantage in managed accounts is underpinned by the ability to generate unique insights from our own research team.

“This provides the infrastructure to build high-performing lower-risk portfolios, as well as exceptional reporting that’s enjoyed by our adviser clients."
