Sydney Stock Exchange CEO heads to Bentleys

Accounting and advisory firm Bentleys has appointed former Sydney Stock Exchange head Tony Sacre to the role of chief executive officer.

Mr Sacre makes the move to Bentleys after two years as chief executive at the Sydney Stock Exchange (SSX), bringing with him 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Before heading up SSX, he was a director of international business origination at ANZ.

Prior to that, he held a variety of senior roles at a number of major financial institutions at AME Group, Bank of Sydney, CBA, NAB, Duke Energy Corporation and HSBC.

Commenting on the appointment, Bentleys’ national management board chair Martin Power said Mr Sacre was a “highly experienced leader” capable of delivering growth for the firm.

“With significant experience in financial markets, Tony has experienced business from all perspectives – from mum and dad operations through to major companies and large hedge funds.

“His experience with mid-market businesses, and in the resources and agribusiness sectors, will prove invaluable.”

Mr Sacre added that he was “delighted” to join the firm and looked forward to working with the board and the team to further growth.
