In a statement, Frontier Advisors announced that it will now be providing Australian Catholic Super with investment strategy and portfolio construction advice as well as use of its platform to extract research insights and conduct portfolio analysis.
Australian Catholic Super chief executive Greg Cantor said the decision to appoint Frontier Advisors was based on the absence of ‘product conflict’.
“The quality of their people, their research process, specialist capability in key sectors and the strong performance they have achieved for their clients over long-periods, were all at the top of the market,” Mr Cantor said in the statement.
“However, from a governance perspective, the alignment of interests that an independent consultant offers was very important to our board.”
Mr Cantor expressed his appreciation for Willis Towers Watson’s services over the past five years.
“As we move into the next stage of the market cycle, we now look forward to working with Frontier to lift the fund’s risk-adjusted performance to help optimise the retirement savings of our members,” he said.
Frontier chief executive Andrew Polson added: “As both the regulatory and investment landscape look set to become more challenging, the unconflicted nature of our offering is becoming increasingly valued by more investors.”
