Scott Bennett, will take on the new role as head of quantitative research for the Australia and New Zealand region.
Mr Bennet has spent the past 14 years at Russell Investment where he was director of Equity Strategy and Research and was responsible for managing quantitative equity strategies.
Mr Bennett will be based in the Melbourne office and will report to Bert Rebelo, head of Northern Trust for Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Rebelo said that across the region Northern Trust had seen increasing demand for strategies which are purposely built to target excess returns and avoid risk.
“As we continue to expand within the region, Scott’s extensive experience will play a vital role in developing solutions that help our clients achieve their objectives. We’re delighted to have him join our growing and focused team in Australia,” he said.
