Mr Williamson will focus on creating new growth opportunities in MLC’s group distribution, the industry fund sector and the large corporate market.
Mr Williamson has over 25 years’ experience having previously held senior executive positions at TAL and AIG.
He will join the insurer in August and will report directly to Sean McCormack, chief of group and retail partners.
Mr McCormack said that Mr Williamson would have a pivotal role in building and embedding the group’s growth strategy.
“His extensive experience in the sector will help us grow our existing group portfolio, develop new opportunities and boost our credentials in the group insurance market,” he said.
Mr McCormack said MLC Life Insurance had clearly demonstrated with the launch of LifeView that it was a leader in innovation and it had delivered several enhancements to distinguish itself.
“It’s a key component of our massive, $600 million investment in our technology transformation, including digital and data, infrastructure, and support services to serve our funds and their members,” he said.
