Former Suncorp boss joins Bendigo Bank

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has appointed former Suncorp chief executive David Foster as a non-executive director.

Mr Foster holds a number of directorships already, across organisations in sectors such as financial services, retail, education and professional services. The firms include financial services provider Thorn Group, mortgage insurance group Genworth and Papua New Guinea company Kina Securities.

His executive career has spanned 25 years, primarily in financial services, most recently as CEO of Suncorp, from 2008 to 2013. 

Mr Foster was with Suncorp for 10 years, holding the role of group executive, strategy during the company’s acquisition of insurer Promina Group in 2007.

Prior to Suncorp, Mr Foster was with Westpac for around 14 years, holding a number of senior roles around Sydney and Queensland.

Bendigo Bank chairman Robert Johnason commented: “David has deep experience in real retail banking. This will be very helpful as we continue to grow the bank.”
