Mr Griffin will lead both the finance and actuarial teams at MLC Life, with accountability for financial management and internal audit strategies, systems, controls and governance frameworks.
He will report directly to acting chief executive Sean McCormack, as a member of the leadership team.
Mr McCormack said Mr Griffin will play a “key role” in maintaining the company’s momentum in developing its digital ecosystem.

“As a seasoned financial services professional, Kent’s experience will be instrumental as we adapt to the ongoing structural challenges facing the life insurance industry and deliver on the promises we make to our customers and business partners.”
Mr Griffin is reported to have more than 30 years’ corporate and consulting experience in financial services, both in Australia and internationally.
Prior to joining MLC Life Insurance, Mr Griffin held the CFO role at TAL for seven years (2012-2019).
Before that, he was a partner of Ernst & Young between 2010 and 2012 and he was regional CFO of AXA Asia Life during 2007 to 2009.
He has also served on a number of boards both locally and internationally and is a director of Hume Bank and a board member of the Country Fire Authority.
