Dr Ian Woods will be based in Sydney and represent Chronos as its climate change and sustainable investment specialist, Australia and New Zealand. He was previously head of AMP Capital’s sustainable investments team and was the founder and deputy chair of the Australia/New Zealand Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC).
“Ian’s experience, long-standing commitment and contribution to global sustainable investment [have] marked him out as an agent of change in the sector,” said Chronos CEO Dr Rory Sullivan. “There are few specialists with Ian’s far-reaching coverage of the asset class spectrum, in the context of responsible investment.
“His global expertise and regional knowledge will be hugely valuable to our clients, partners and stakeholders and will enable us to continue to drive progress, raise industry standards, and inform global best practice in sustainable investment.”
Dr Woods is an expert on climate change and ethical and responsible investment. His career has focused on the link between ESG performance and investment across equities, fixed income and alternatives, including real asset investments.
“Asia Pacific is home to a range of unique and systemically important sustainability challenges,” said managing director Nicky Amos. “Inviting Ian to support our clients and to inform Chronos’ global change programmes is a signal of our intent to deepen our expertise and amplify our impact [on] delivering transformative, systemic change in these key geographies.”
