Michelle Wade is departing AvSuper, after being chief executive for more than a decade.
Michael Sykes, who is currently deputy CEO for MTAA Super will replace Ms Wade, commencing in the role from April. He reportedly has more than 25 years’ experience across banking, insurance and superannuation.
Nick Smith, AvSuper’s executive manager, has been appointed acting CEO until Mr Sykes starts.
Ben Firkins, chair of AVSuper commented Ms Wade had been “instrumental to AVSuper’s continual expansion of services to our members, and in steering us through the challenging times for the global financial crisis, COVID-19 and the significant regulatory change that has occurred over the past decade.”
