A Treasury Group (now Pacific Current Group) co-founder and former Perpetual executive has linked up with multi-boutique platform Mantis Funds.

Rodney Green has joined the company as a board member and adviser, following on from his previous stint as managing director of Treasury Group, and as chief investment officer and head of funds management at Perpetual.

Previously, Mr Green also worked at Citibank, overseeing its entry into the Australian market and earlier with Zurich Insurance and GIO.

Mantis Funds chief executive Timothy Cheung commented: “Rodney brings a wealth of experience to our business and we are incredibly grateful to have access to his guidance as an advisor.”

The business has set itself up to differ from its rivals, providing a full distribution and operations capability to fund partners “without extracting equity as a prerequisite”, Mr Cheung said.

“The fund manager controls their business and both partners benefit from mutual success,” he said.

Fellow Mantis Funds founder Damien Hatfield added: “I am seeing more of the better-placed fund managers wanting access to marketing smarts and ideas. We are also getting a strong response to our technology which, we believe, will make seamless funds transfers and client communication a reality.”
