Catherine Farrugia has been appointed as general manager, digital and will be managing digital strategy, design and delivery for Rest, including its website, app and virtual agent.
Ms Farrugia has taken the role after working with Rest for 14 years, with her most recent role being general manager of channel management.
Meanwhile Steven Ahn has nabbed the position of general manager, member insights and strategy, which will see him lead member analytics, data science, market research and “voice of customer” and dashboarding teams.
Mr Ahn has been with the fund since August last year. Previously, he worked in senior roles at Medibank, Telstra, nbn Australia and ING Direct Australia.
Rest reported it implemented the new structure for the member engagement division after an increased uptake in financial advice services from members, as well as a significant lift in engagement with super and insurance in 2020.
The fund is also in the process of recruiting for a new general manager, brand and marketing.
Tyrone O'Neill, group executive of member engagement at Rest commented the creation of the teams will maintain improvements across the fund’s support services.
“There has been an incredible shift in the way people access advice over the past year,” Mr O'Neill said.
“With over 1 million online interactions since February last year, it is important we acknowledge that digital is the largest and most preferred mode of engagement for our members.”
Member engagement will continue to be led by Mr O'Neill, who has been with Rest since 2019.
