Tricia Nguyen has taken the role, replacing Mercer Sentinel leader for the Pacific region, Peter Baker, as he transitions to being a partner on a part-time basis.
Mr Baker has also stepped down from being head of governance, legal and risk consulting.
Previously, Ms Nguyen had been a principal, working as a senior consultant with the Mercer Sentinel team.
As an outcome of this change, principal and senior Sentinel consultant Ash Moosa will assume the role of lead consultant, heading up Mercer Sentinel’s custody consulting services. Mr Moosa joined Mercer in 2015.
Mercer institutional wealth leader Simon Eagleton commented Ms Nguyen’s appointment had been a year in the making.
“Tricia has already been taking the lead Sentinel’s services behind the scenes as part of Peter’s succession planning and I’m confident this will be a seamless transition,” Mr Eagleton said.
“Peter remains an integral part of the team and will continue to provide his expertise in a part-time capacity.”
Ms Nguyen joined Mercer in 2015 and has been leading the team in assessing operational risk within investment management operations across asset classes.
She reportedly has more than 20 years’ experience in asset consulting, custodian operations and relationship management.
