The US-based global investment manager has announced the promotion of eight new partners to its team.

In a statement, GQG said James Anders, Mark Barker, Carolyn Cui, Phil LoGrasso, Greg Schneider, Xavier Sément, Rick Sherley and David Tuthill had become partners in the firm, bringing total partner numbers to 17.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with such a talented, committed, and passionate group of people,” GQG Partners co-founder and chief executive Tim Carver said.

“We have always said that partnership at GQG is about being in service to something greater than ourselves, committed to bringing lasting value to our clients and the world. This team embodies that ethos fully.”

The news comes after the global fund manager, established in 2016, recently opened a Sydney local headquarters and appointed former Colonial First State head of investment sales Laird Abernethy as its managing director for Australia.

GQG co-founder and chief investment officer Rajiv Jain said the Florida-based firm had been “humbled” by the overwhelming support of the industry over the course of its expansion into the Australian market as well as through opening offices in New York, Seattle and London.

“I am most proud of the fact that we have added value in every strategy we manage since founding GQG Partners. At the same time, we are keenly aware that our focus must remain on tomorrow’s performance and maintaining the high standards that we set out in the early stages of this business,” Mr Jain said.

“My first goal remains to deliver investment excellence because the performance we deliver to our clients will ultimately define our firm.”
