Natasha McKean will join the local equity manager from Maple-Brown Abbott and JP Morgan where she held senior positions in ESG analysis, equity strategy, portfolio management and M&A.
Ms McKean will be DNR’s dedicated ESG investment analyst across all of the company’s equity investment strategies and work alongside its portfolio managers and analysts.
“The appointment of Natasha further enhances our ESG capabilities,” DNR CIO, Jamie Nicol, said.
“Having launched a dedicated socially responsible investment strategy in 2006, DNR Capital has maintained a clear commitment to ESG research and a strong appreciation for the value of an integrated approach.”
Following Ms McKean’s departure from Maple-Brown Abbott, the investment manager announced on Monday that Emma Pringle will move into the role of head of ESG.
Ms Pringle has worked at the company for the last 12 months and previously held strategy and operations roles in BT’s private wealth, superannuation, investments, platforms and advice divisions and also served as co-chair of the Australian Sustainable Finance Initiative (ASFI).
“Emma’s appointment reflects Maple-Brown Abbott’s continued investment in the ESG space and how seriously we view integrating ESG factors into our investment process across all of our portfolios,” Maple-Brown Abbott chief executive and managing director, Sophia Rahmani, said.
“We expect this will be even more important as risks around climate change and social issues like modern slavery become more prevalent.
“Emma brings market-leading experience and talent and I’m confident that under her oversight we will continue to be a leader in ESG.”
