Melbourne-based boutique fund manager SG Hiscock & Company is expanding its team with the appointment of a new investment analyst.

The firm stated Sophie Smith has been appointed to the role, reporting to portfolio manager Rory Hunter in the emerging companies business unit.

Mr Hunter stated that strong investor demand has driven the fund to focus on growing its capabilities, with Ms Smith’s new role to support the business in company research, modelling and valuation.

Mr Hunter’s emerging companies unit incorporates the recently launched SGH Medical Technology Fund that invests in start-up and established medical technology companies.
