Westpac has announced that Yianna Papanikolaou will take on the newly created role of chief transformation officer from late April when she will be responsible for “major change” and accountability for the CORE (Customer Outcomes and Risk Excellence) program.
Ms Papanikolaou previously worked at Deutsche Bank in the UK where she held a number of leadership positions, most recently as managing director, chief transformation office.
She has also worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland as head of strategy and transformation and was a part of Accenture’s financial services consulting practice.
“Continuing to transform culture and risk management remains a major focus for the group in our efforts to build a simpler, stronger bank and the CORE program is an integral part of this plan,” Westpac CEO Peter King said.
“Yianna brings a wealth of global experience in large scale transformation across major organisations.”
