Franklin Templeton has appointed Richard Rauch as investment director for its specialist investment manager Brandywine Global Investment Management.
Mr Rauch has 20 years of investment experience, including most recently as investment director/senior investment specialist at First Sentier Investments between 2014 and 2022.
He was previously investment director/portfolio specialist at Wellington Management and also held senior positions at Goldman Sachs and State Street Global Investors.
In his new role, Mr Rauch will report to Brandywine Global’s head of global sales and client services Tad Fetter and locally to Franklin Templeton co-head of APAC, Matt Harrison.
“We are delighted that Richard has taken up this critical role, providing support to clients and helping position the business for long-term growth,” said Mr Harrison.
“Clients are at the centre of all our investment solutions, and we look forward to Richard contributing positively towards the growth of Brandywine Global business in Australia.”
Franklin Templeton said that Mr Rauch will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and enhancing relationships in Australia and New Zealand with institutional clients, consultants and intermediaries while working alongside the firm’s broader team.
His qualifications include a BS in Finance from Rutgers University and CFA Charterholder. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Sydney.
“I am pleased to join Brandywine Global and the broader Franklin Templeton team to highlight the opportunities that exist today,” Mr Rauch said on his appointment.
“I look forward to working with our clients to provide investment insights and a range of differentiated fixed income solutions that are particularly relevant now given the inflationary backdrop.”
Franklin Templeton has made a number of significant appointments in recent months. In July, the firm promoted its head of sales, Felicity Walsh, to the role of managing director and head of Australia and New Zealand.
Additionally, in June, it announced that Matthew Harrison and Tariq Ahmad would take up the role of co-heads of APAC following the retirement of Vivek Kudva.
