The fund manager has named two senior account directors as it furthers its national reach.

Bennelong Funds Management has announced the appointment of Amanda Evans as account director, Queensland, and Andrew Cumming as account director, Western Australia and South Australia.

Ms Evans joins the firm with more than 25 years of experience in funds management. Based in Brisbane, she will report to account director Jodie Saw.

Most recently, Ms Evans held the role of strategic account manager at Colonial First State and has previously served in senior account management positions with Macquarie Group and BT Financial Group.

Mr Cumming brings more than 13 years of experience in business development, distribution and account management to the newly created role. Prior to joining Bennelong, he spent over six years as a senior business development manager with Macquarie Group, and he has also held senior business development roles at MLC Australia and NAB.

Moreover, Mr Cumming is based in Perth and will report to head of distribution Jonas Daly.

Commenting on the appointments, Mr Daly said Ms Evans and Mr Cumming are critical to the development of the fund as it further expands its footprint across Australia.

“Amanda has exceptional relationship skills and an in-depth knowledge of the industry, and she’ll be instrumental in supporting our clients in the Queensland region,” he explained.

“Meanwhile, Andrew’s demonstrated ability to develop key client relationships, and his extensive network across the region, will be integral in growing our client reach across Western Australia and South Australia.”

Bennelong’s advisers on the west coast will also now have access to an account director based in their own state, which, Mr Daly concluded, has been an important goal for the firm.

The announcement follows the appointment of John Burke as Bennelong’s new global chief executive last month, succeeding Craig Bingham, who had spent more than eight years in the role.
