Janus Henderson has announced the appointment of Ashleigh Lane as an institutional sales director within the firm’s institutional distribution team in Australia.
Ms Lane joins Janus Henderson from Capital Group, where she was a managing director responsible for leading the institutional business in Australia and New Zealand.
She previously held roles at State Street Global Advisors in the institutional client group and worked at the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia as an investment analyst.
In the newly created role of institutional sales director, Ms Lane will be based in Sydney and will report to Tom Kelly, Janus Henderson’s head of institutional distribution for Australia.
According to Janus Henderson, Ms Lane will be responsible for building and expanding the institutional business in Australia as well strengthening client relationships and creating partnership opportunities to enhance its offerings for institutional clients.
“The institutional market has long been a key strategic priority for Janus Henderson in Australia and one where we continue to see tremendous potential for growth over the long term,” commented Matt Gaden, head of Australia at Janus Henderson.
“Ashleigh knows the institutional market extremely well and understands the sophisticated needs of our clients in this space, so I am delighted that she has chosen to join Janus Henderson in this exciting phase of growth for us.”
Alongside the new appointment, Janus Henderson has also named Sophie Nelson as an institutional sales associate as part of internal promotion.
The firm said that Ms Nelson would work closely with the institutional distribution team to facilitate sales efficiency and contribute to the development and execution of its strategic plan to further develop relationships with institutional investors across Australia and New Zealand.
Ms Nelson previously worked in the Janus Henderson Australian marketing team for four years. Prior to her time at Janus Henderson, she held roles at both Hyperion Asset Management and InvestSMART.
“The appointment of Ashleigh combined with the addition of Sophie to the institutional team demonstrates our dedication to growing our partnerships with our institutional clients and our ambition to increase market share in this area,” said Mr Gaden.
