Russell Investments has announced the appointment of Tim Furlan as managing director for Australia and New Zealand and Pete Gunning as head of APAC.
Mr Furlan has spent 19 years at Russell Investments and has held a number of senior positions in its master trust and superannuation businesses during his tenure.
The global investment solutions firm said that Mr Furlan will be responsible for continuing to drive growth across its local operations amid growing demand for client-driven solutions across both the institutional and retail sectors.
Mr Gunning, who continues to serve as vice chairman, is returning to the head of APAC role after previously holding the position for eight years up until October 2021.
He has worked at Russell Investments for a total of 27 years and served as global chief investment officer between 2008–13 and again between 2018–21.
The pair succeed former head of Asia-Pacific Jodie Hampshire, who departed Russell Investments this month after 17 years at the firm in roles in both Sydney and London.
“We thank Jodie for her enormous contributions over the years and I am honoured to work alongside Pete to drive innovation, with a focus on client investment outcomes,” said Mr Furlan.
“More than ever, our clients need solutions that create and protect wealth in an increasingly complex environment. We’re delivering new initiatives in response to client needs and have innovative products in the pipeline for now and into 2024.”
Additionally, Bronwyn Yates has been named as head of go-to-market (GTM) strategy and operations for APAC, spanning Australia, China, Japan, Korea, and New Zealand.
Ms Yates has more than 16 years of experience at Russell Investments and has been a director on the Russell Investment Management Board since 2013.
The firm said that Ms Yates is well positioned to lead the coordination and communication of its strategy across client segments and the APAC region.
Conservative, diversified 50 and high growth options have been added to the Russell Investments’ sustainable managed portfolio suite, mirroring the firm’s core multi-asset offering.
