Tribeca Investment Partners has expanded its global natural resources team with the appointment of Michael Orphanides as an investment analyst.

Mr Orphanides has worked in the financial services and investment industry for around 14 years, and has previously held roles with RBC Capital Markets, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and NM Rothschild & Sons.

Commenting on the appointment, Tribeca portfolio manager Ben Cleary said Mr Orphinades’ appointment would strengthen the global natural resources team.

“Michael has spent the past six months working with Tribeca as a consultant, and during that time has already contributed positively to the business and fund,” he said.

Also joining the global natural resources team as an investment analyst is former Nikko Asset Management head of commodities group James Eginton.

Mr Eginton has worked in the industry for a decade, and Mr Cleary said he would bring “a broad cross-section of sector coverage experience to the role”.

“The entire Tribeca team will benefit from the appointments, and the Smaller Companies Fund, the Alpha Plus Fund and the Global Total Return Fund will also draw on resources and content from this team,” Mr Cleary said.
