Joining Mr Paul is David Toohey as the firm’s new head of risk and quantitative research and Raechel Strong as investment analyst.
Atrium chief executive Alex Hone said the appointments, made off the back of a period of “recent growth”, would expand the team’s skill base and experience, and that the business was looking forward to the new hires’ contributions.
“Our focus remains on identifying and attracting key investment individuals to ensure the continuing delivery of portfolios’ outcomes,” he said.
“Brendan and David have achieved well-earned and exceptional reputations in their respective fields and will contribute meaningfully to Atrium’s portfolio outcomes. Raechel will be a strong supporting asset to the existing team of analysts here at Atrium.”
Mr Paul joins the firm from MST Capital, where he managed credit, equities and foreign exchange, while Mr Toohey comes from Investment Science Asset Management, where he served as chief investment officer.
Ms Strong was previously an associate with a boutique investment advisory firm where she was responsible for developing and executing investment strategies.
