The team of five, including Michael Elkins, previously with Avenue Capital, and Jason Epstein, formerly managing director of Oak Hill Advisors, will be based in New York.
The company said the new team would “collaborate closely” with existing CFSGAM fixed income teams through the Investment Opinion Network technology platform, which would allow fixed income teams to access each-other's research and strategies.
CFSGAM chief investment officer for fixed income and multi-asset solutions Paul Griffiths said the new team would expand the firm’s fixed income capabilities.
“The addition of the High Yield team in New York further strengthens CFSGAM’s global fixed income capability and expertise in areas of proprietary research, and portfolio management,” he said.
“The recruitment of Matt and the broader team illustrates our commitment to recruiting top quality investment talent in support of achieving our clients’ objectives.”
