Packhorse, which invests in the agribusiness sector and the regeneration of rural Australian environments, has announced that it is joining hands with InvestorDaily’s ESG Summit 2022, which is returning as an in-person event in Melbourne and Sydney.
The summit will explore some of the key environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues confronting asset managers and advisers as Australia faces the greatest wealth transfer in history.
The event will include a full day of expert-led sessions, keynote addresses, and panel discussions, where speakers will contribute to the increasing debate around the evolving ESG investment landscape and issues such as climate change, social issues, and gender equality.
Throughout the day, the sessions will seek to equip advisers with the tools and strategies required to engage socially aware and proactive clients who are increasingly demanding more sustainable investment in their portfolios.
Commenting on its partnership with this year’s ESG Summit, Packhorse chair Tim Samway highlighted the importance of forums like the ESG Summit, which he said provide an opportunity for like-minded participants to share knowledge and forge a path forward.
“We are eager to further enhance the spotlight on regenerative agricultural practices among the financial community and explain why agricultural land has developed into a very real and attractive alternative asset class,” Mr Samway said.
“At Packhorse, we are concerned for our ecosystems and feel a custodial obligation to heal our soil and preserve our land for future generations. Packhorse Pastoral Company has created a judicious opportunity that allows investors to be part of this national land regeneration journey without compromising financial returns.”
The ESG Summit will take place in Melbourne on Thursday, 17 February, and in Sydney on Thursday 17 March 2022.
