The AFA announces the 2008 Rising Star of the Year Award finalists, with the winner to be announced on Sunday.

The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has announced the finalists for its 2008 Rising Star of the Year Award.

The finalists are: Mary Benton, AMP Financial Planning, Brad Fox and Suzanne Miskell, Total Financial Solutions, Sarah Riegelhuth and Ryan Watson, Synchron, and Aaron Zelman, Apogee Financial Planning.

"The Rising Star Award allows us to shine the light across Australia to identify and recognise some of Australia's best and brightest advisers," AFA chief executive Richard Klipin said.

Judging the high calibre entrants was very difficult, but it is testament that the industry has a strong inflow of new and talented advisers, he said.

The winner of the Rising Star of the Year Award will be announced this Sunday, October 19, at the AFA National Conference, with the Adviser of the Year Award winner to be announced Tuesday, October 21.
