AFG Financial Planning plans to bolster east coast presence, starting with New South Wales.

Australian Finance Group Financial Planning (AFG FP) plans to grow its adviser network in New South Wales through the addition of six to eight practices by the end of 2009, the dealer group has told InvestorDaily.

With its head office based in Perth and a good proportion of its national adviser base established along the west coast, AFG FP wants to bolster its presence on the east coast, with New South Wales the current focus, a spokesperson said.

As part of the dealer group's strategy, AFG FP has appointed a new state dealership manager for New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, former Guardian Financial Planning national manager of advice solutions Jenny Lee-Koksal.

She will be responsible for the attraction of quality advisers into the group and will partner with advisers to deliver a compelling proposition to their clients.

Lee-Koksal will work alongside national dealership manager Mark Woods to further strengthen and build AFG FP within the industry.

"AFG FP has built great prominence along the west coast of Australia and we'd now like to expand our existing but smaller east coast presence, where we see great opportunity," Lee-Koksal said.

According to Woods, Lee-Koksal will greatly support advisers and be instrumental in attracting quality planners to the group.

Launched in 2002, AFG FP is the financial planning arm of Australian Finance Group, which is the largest mortgage broking group in Australia.
