AMP Financial Services has appointed ING national sales and marketing head Dan Powell to the position of director of independent financial advisers (IFAs) and alliances distribution, effective 21 September.
The new role has been created to distribute AMP's products through IFAs and alliance partners.
AMP director of product manufacturing Paul Sainsbury said the appointment reflects AMP Financial Services' commitment to broadening its distribution channels.
"We are very pleased to have Dan on board to lead AMP's push into the IFA and alliances market, which is part of AMP's broader growth strategy," Sainsbury said.
Powell has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, managing both retail and institutional clients with both distribution and operational responsibilities.
Powell's previous roles included five years with St George Bank's Sealcorp Holdings as director distribution of Asgard and the Securitor dealer group.
He also spent 12 years with BT Financial Group, where he worked his way up from business development manager in Western Australia to launching the BT Wrap service as senior vice president business development.
