ARIA has appointed a former QIC implemented equities head as senior portfolio manager of listed international equities.

Australian government employees industry fund the Australian Reward Investment Alliance (ARIA) has appointed Martin McComish as its listed international equities senior portfolio manager.

McComish has extensive funds management experience gained over 15 years of working in a range of jobs, including at CFM and TRM - the precursor organisations to ARIA.

Most recently, he spent five years as head of implemented equities at Queensland Investment Corporation before establishing his own consulting practice in late 2006.

"This is a key role, responsible for our investments in listed international developed and developing-market equities, which currently have a joint strategic asset allocation of 20 per cent of funds under management," ARIA chief executive Alison Tarditi said.

"Martin brings very complementary skills to our team and we are all looking forward to working with him in continuing to build our investment portfolio and deliver consistently superior performance for our members."
