Healthy Australians will be able to apply for significant life insurance premium reductions under a new policy benefit launched by Asteron today.
The Healthy Plus Option will reward Asteron Lifeguard Life Cover policy holders with discounts of up to 20 per cent on their standard insurance premium upon meeting certain health and other risk criteria.
Asteron general manager Jordan Hawke said the Healthy Plus Option was a unique benefit for both new and existing customers that were in good health.
"By combining this option with our bundling discounts, customers can save up to 35 per cent on their premiums," Hawke said.
"Once customers have the Healthy Plus Option advantage, Asteron advisers will also have an additional natural retention advantage that's hard to compete with."
The 20 per cent discount would apply immediately and could be continued for the life of the policy by reporting health measures such as body mass index and blood test results annually.
Hawke said that even if a client chose not to re-submit report results, Healthy Plus Option holders would continue to enjoy benefits for the life of their policy, with the discount reduced by 1 per cent annually to a guaranteed minimum ongoing discount of 10 per cent.

The Healthy Plus Option builds on the Asteron Life! customer health and wellbeing program announced last year and is an additional benefit to the Asteron Lifeguard product suite.
