Bennelong Funds Management continues on its recruitment drive.

Bennelong Funds Management has snared two directors of sales both from Ausbil Dexia to boost its Melbourne presence and open a Sydney office.

Ciaran McAssey has been hired to the Melbourne office. He was Ausbil Dexia's southern regional manager for the past three years. He had been at ING and ANZ Margin Lending.

Andrew Aitken was Ausbil's northern regional manager for two years before becoming the manager of corporate communications.  He had previously been at Perennial and Aberdeen.

Both directors start in July and will be responsible for institutional and retail relationships, reporting directly to chief executive Jarrod Brown.

"They will market the property team, long/short hedge fund and any future boutique," Brown said.

Earlier this week it was reported that Bennelong had lured four of the ING Investment Management Australian (INGIM) equities team. INGIM managers Paul Cuddy, Mark East and analysts Michael Chun and Michael Malseed have all left ING. However, Bennelong's Brown yesterday refused to confirm whether they would be joining Bennelong.

Bennelong Group is an investment and funds management group founded in 2000 by businessman Jeff Chapman.

Former IOOF and Standard and Poor's executive Jarrod Brown was lured to the group as chief executive for Bennelong Funds Management last September.
