RI Advice Group has recruited a new practice, The Wealth Designers, to its network from Axa-owned dealer group Charter Financial Planning.

The Western Australia-based firm, which is led by principal Troy MacMillan, has two offices in Perth and around $120 million in funds under management.

"What we found at RI Advice Group was a dealer group that wanted to support our business growth," MacMillan said.

"They understood our strategy and there was cultural alignment with a client-centric approach and absolute commitment to providing quality values-based advice.

"We were also impressed by the levels of expertise across all of the dealership team and the wealth of resources available, particularly in the area of marketing and communications."

RI Advice Group head of practice development Peter Ornsby said the group had grown from about 200 advisers at the beginning of 2010 to 257 advisers across 125 member firms as of 31 January.

Ornsby said the dealer group had also recently introduced additional dealer group staff in Perth so it could provide on-the-ground support for advisers based in WA.

"We are very pleased to be partnering with Troy and his team," RI Advice Group chief executive Paul Campbell said.

"The Wealth Designers are a high-calibre practice and we see their appointment as another vote of confidence in our ability to provide business growth for motivated planners." «
