Financial services firm handpicks its executive from an industry superannuation fund.

Global administrator CitiStreet has hired Matthew Halpin to head its operations.

In the job, Halpin will manage a team of 400 people and oversee the day-to-day running of the company's operations. The group manages $28 billion in funds under administration.

Halpin previously worked at Equipsuper as manager, member administration where he was responsible for managing the $4.4 billion superannuation fund's insurance operations and outsourced administration services on behalf of 44,500 members.

Halpin was also part of the fund's executive management team where he advised the fund on member services and group insurance product design.
