Edwards takes Vamos' ethical position

Australian Ethical Investments appoints new chair to replace Pauline Vamos.

Australian Ethical Investments (AEI) has appointed Naomi Edwards as its new chair.

Edwards' will commence immediately with AEI, filling the vacancy left by Pauline Vamos.

Vamos resigned as chair last month after being appointed chief executive of superannuation industry body Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA). Vamos began her role with ASFA this month.

Edwards was appointed a non-executive director of AEI's wholly-owned subsidiary Australian Ethical Superannuation in 2004, and was appointed to the Australian Ethical Investment board in 2005.

She is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, works as a pro bono actuarial adviser to various non-government organsations working on environmental and social issues including the Wilderness Society and Senate Plantation Committee.

Edwards was executive director and leader of Trowbridge Consulting's financial services practice until it merged with Deloitte Touch Tohmatsu, when she became the Deloitte partner in charge of the Financial Services Industry Group until 2001.
