The FPA has reassessed its honorary award scheme to ensure winning recipients gain a higher profile for their achievements, the association has announced.
The association embarked on the review to increase the value of receiving an award, clarify the award types available, devise a clearer nomination and selection process and encourage more nominations, the FPA said.
"A few simple changes have transformed our awards program, with each award recognising different qualities and achievements," FPA chief executive Jo-Anne Bloch said.
Changes to the awards program include: Distinguished Service Awards (DSA) nominations now being open to all FPA members, the FPA Life Member to become an honorary award for both members and non-members, and the discontinuation of Honorary Member, for non-members.
Recipients will receive their awards at the inaugural Value of Advice Gala dinner at the FPA National Conference in Queensland on November 20.
The nomination cut-off date for DSAs and Fellows is August 29.
The FPA currently has 41 Fellows and 60 DSA recipients.
