Genesys member firm, Zest Wealth Advisers, has opened a new office in Western Australia, the group's managing director Todd Clifford has announced.
"We currently have offices in Melbourne, Victoria and Burnie, Tasmania, and have now established an office in Perth, which will be lead by existing co-director and adviser Matthew Burton, who was formerly based in our Melbourne office," Clifford said.
"Having lived in Western Australia previously, Matthew is still well-connected with people in the area and as a consequence was picking up a lot of new business from the state."
"Because of this and due to opportunities in the region, we decided that establishing a presence there would be a good move for Zest Wealth Advisers."
Clifford said as Burton had done a lot of work on the Australian Football League account within Victoria, the firm appointed adviser Mark Porter about a year ago to work alongside Burton so he could do a gradual hand over before he made the move to Perth.
"Matthew will now be concentrating on working with a small group of private clients in Perth as we look to offer a different type of offering in Western Australia," Clifford said.
"One of our senior paraplanners, John Hogan, has also relocated to Perth with Matthew and has been promoted to associate adviser."
Meanwhile Clifford said the team was in advanced discussions regarding an acquisition in Melbourne and another one in Burnie.
"We want to have capacity to grow the size of the business and certainly plan to add resources to our new office in Perth, but our support functions will remain in Melbourne and Burnie for the time being."
Clifford said the firm currently has about $380 million in funds under advice, with revenue growth in the order of 20 per cent over the last year and earlier this month was awarded the Genesys member firm of the year award.
