On the back of a year which saw strong growth in retail and institutional inflows, the Macquarie Professional Series has expanded its national team dedicated to providing service and support to financial advisers and institutional investors.
As part of the expansion, Ed Nasser has joined the business development management and support team in Queensland, while Mel Longmire has joined in Western Australia and Jessica Grant has joined in Victoria.
Further to this, the key account management team is now supported by newly appointed research analyst Ben Taylor, who joined the team in November.
Macquarie Professional Series head of distribution Adrian Stewart said that 2010 had been an outstanding year, which had brought awards, new appointments, a new team structure and significant support from retail and institutional investors.
"Being recognised as Product Distributor of the Year by Standard & Poor's Fund Services for the second year running has also been a highlight for us," he said.
"With a significant increase in new dealer groups choosing to invest in the Walter Scott, IFP, Winton and Arrowstreet funds on behalf of their clients, we are building our team in each region to support the growth in new advisers.
"Since the start of the year, various funds within the Macquarie Professional Series have been approved by a further 11 dealer groups around Australia."
Stewart said during the past year a number of new institutional clients had also chosen to invest in the Macquarie Professional Series, including Catholic Super and Local Government Super, which had both invested in the Winton Global Alpha Fund.
He added that 2010 marked the first time the Macquarie Professional Series had also developed a dedicated television advertising campaign to assist advisers in presenting the series to their clients.
