Mercer Wealth Solutions has opened its first external financial advice practice since the launch of its external financial advice channel.

Mercer Wealth Solutions (MWS) has expanded its financial advice network by opening its first external practice in Sydney.

Under the arrangement, the 25-year-old Baulkham Hills practice would retain its boutique nature and have access to MWS' referrals, research and investment solutions, the practice's director, John Tsekas, said.

The announcement comes less than three months after MWS launched its external advice channel, which aims to expand the company's service offering by partnering with self-employed planners across Australia.

"By joining the Mercer Wealth Solutions network, financial advisers who have built their practice and relationships in their local area can grow with the support and technical knowledge of our well-respected brand," Mercer financial advice leader Scott Walters said.

The company's next goal was to grow the advice channel across regional Australia, Walters said.

Under the partnership arrangement, self-employed practitioners operate under Mercer's Australian financial services licence and carry MWS branding in their practice names.
