Meade will be responsible for all MLC dealer groups.

MLC has appointed James Meade as general manager of practice management for MLC Advice Solutions.

Meade will be responsible for all MLC dealer groups, including MLC Financial Services, Garvan, Apogee Finance and Godfrey Pembroke.

More specifically, he will head up the national practice development team, which focuses on supporting financial planning businesses as they evolve to reflect changing market conditions.

The practice management team also advises businesses in areas that include improving the profitability, value and growth of an adviser's business and working with principals to attract and retain quality employees.

The new appointment follows the recent announcement by Garvan Financial Planning of three new advice businesses to the licensee, including Battistella Financial Services, McNeany Financial Services and Vertex Group.

MLC Advice Solutions general manager Greg Miller will work alongside Meade and said the practice management team would play a critical role in growing the next generation of advice businesses.

Meade said the pace of change in the industry was ever increasing and MLC would continue to help its businesses take advantage of the opportunities that arose as a result.

"I am looking forward to taking on this role and working with our advice businesses to help them be the best they can be and achieve long-term success and growth," he said.

Meade has been the NSW state manager for MLC's Advice Solutions business for the past three years and, prior to this, held a number of roles in MLC's national sales team.
