Macquarie Private Wealth advisers Geoff Barnes and Charlie Brown have decided to leave the group, InvestorDaily has learned.
When contacted, a spokesperson from Macquarie Private Wealth said Barnes had decided to retire from the financial advice industry, while Brown had decided to leave the financial advice sector to pursue a career in funds management.
"The clients [of these advisers] will continue to be provided with service and support from Macquarie Private Wealth advisers," the spokesperson told InvestorDaily.
Meanwhile, last week Zurich Financial Services Australia said it had recruited Macquarie Private Wealth head of money market Angus Crennan as its new investment specialist.
Last month, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (MSSB) also confirmed that it had picked up six more senior financial advisers, formerly with Macquarie Private Wealth, to its Australian wealth management business.
This followed confirmation in September last year that MSSB had appointed three other advisers formerly with Macquarie Private Wealth.
Advisers leaving Macquarie Private Wealth for MSSB include: David Basha, Shannon Briggs, Laura Purbrick, Mark O'Sullivan, Chris Watson and James Gosnell in Sydney; and James O'Kane, Ian Elks and Brett Boardman in Brisbane.
