Wealth management firm Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has appointed three new advisory service staff in Melbourne who have all joined the firm from Commonwealth Private Bank.
New additions to the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney team include financial advisers Kate Kearney and Mark Winnell, as well as client service associate Julie-Ann Curnow.
A media representative for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney told InvestorDaily that the circumstances under which the three new members joined the group from Commonwealth Private Bank was not something he would discuss.
He said Morgan Stanley Smith Barney would be looking to grow its financial planning division nationally, however the group's intentions were more about finding quality people than boosting staff numbers.
Morgan Stanley Smith Barney currently has approximately 180 advisers around the country, he said.
A Commonwealth Private Bank representative said they could confirm that two stockbrokers had left the group but that they weren't expecting any more staff losses.
