Former Plum Financial Services managing director Mike Fitzsimons will join MLC as general manager of MasterKey Custom from early next month.
"Fitzsimons' immediate focus will be gaining a detailed understanding of the business and engaging with financial advisers, clients, employees and the Trustee Board to establish the key priorities for the business moving forward," a company spokesperson said.
According to MLC Platforms general manager Anthony Waldron, MasterKey Custom has experienced rapid growth over the past few years and the newly-created role ensures the business is ready to capitalise on the next wave of growth.
"Mike's superannuation expertise, focus on the customer experience and passion for the development of the teams he works with makes him ideally placed to run this business," Waldron said.
MasterKey Custom is a premium administration and investment service, which helps investors and financial advisers to tailor custom-built solutions. It includes MasterKey Custom Superannuation, the MasterKey Custom Investment Service and MasterKey Custom Self-Managed Super.
Fitzsimons had been undertaking strategy work for MLC, reviewing future growth opportunities for the business, since leaving Plum in the second half of 2008, a company spokesperson said.
Plum Financial Services is a subsidiary of MLC, which is part of the National Australia Bank.
