Financial services group Trust Company has been appointed as trustee for the Russell Webb Legacy, a trust launched yesterday by rescued Beaconsfield miners Brant Webb and Todd Russell.

The trust was set up by the miners as a way for them to give back to the Beaconsfield community. In particular, the trust will provide assistance to the Beaconsfield youth who have been affected by the April mining disaster.

Genesys Wealth Advisers provided advice to the miners about how to establish the trust. "Trust is very proud to support the philanthropic endeavours of Brant and Todd. The Legacy will be a perpetual gift to the youth in the Beaconsfield region", Trust head of philanthropy Clare Stanford said.

The Legacy has received a $50,000donation from Murdoch Books, which will be used by Beaconsfield Primary School. The miners have also released a book. Retail company Kmart will donate $5 for each book sold to the Legacy. Trust's philanthropy business looks after about $520 million in charitable trusts
