Investment consultant Mercer will play a larger role in supporting Sunsuper's in-house investment team by providing global manager and strategy research resources.
The new arrangement includes access to specialist Mercer consultants as well as investment tools such as Mercer's Portfolio Structuring Tool and global manager research database, GIMD.
"We're delighted to be augmenting our working arrangements with Sunsuper and its investment team, which has a deserved reputation for excellence and innovation," head of Mercer's investment consulting business Simon Eagleton said.
Mercer has a proven track record in delivering innovative investment advice, according to Sunsuper chief executive David Hartley.
"We work with a number of consultants because we're interested in exploring new ideas and exciting investment approaches. We've been impressed with the breadth and depth of Mercer's global manager and alternative investment research and we look forward to the extended relationship with their team of specialists," Hartley said.
The Mercer Sentinel team will also provide investment operations and custody advice to Sunsuper, in a bid to reduce operational risks and enhance returns.
